Windward Wonders…What’s Your Grammys (Hot) Take?

By Published On: February 6, 2026

Welcome to Windward Wonders…?, the section where we spotlight Windward students with a question of the week about entertaining topics ranging from movies to sports teams.

Left to right: Daniel Elbaz (’26), Leila Levine (’28) and Ansel Perrette (’28), Ashan Lalvani Kapur (’30)

Responses have been edited for length and clarity.

Daniel Elbaz (’26): I did not watch the Grammys, personally, but Billie Eilish…I don’t think she deserved the Grammy for “Wildflower.” I thought that there were some better options on that list [for Song of the Year]. I think Kendrick [Lamar] and SZA did deserve Record of the Year even though some people disagree. And Album of the Year going to Bad Bunny was a great choice.

Ansel Perrette (’28): They need to come up with a category for…like…most obscure lyrics, and Katseye should have won that. I mean, “Eat zucchini” [from the song “Internet Girl”]? I can’t decide whether I love it or I hate it, but it’s new.

Leila Levine (’28): I just think Sabrina Carpenter should have won something.

Ashan Lalvani Kapur (’30): I don’t think Kendrick Lamar should have won five Grammys; it’s not his year anymore. I mean, I liked GNX, but I don’t think he should have won five Grammys.
